I use mixture of bean powder to stick soil and tree sticks together,
and to create similar texture of human.
In my ideal plan, I hope every components are organic and can be decated to nature.
but I cannot fix the problem on keeping straight form of tree sticks.

You might need to do more study on the material. Is it the best material? Might be another type of soil can fulfil your needs. Although, it is not 100% fit your concept, the work is beautifully made and I wish to see it development and how it merges with the nature.
回覆刪除i like the idea of your work. although there are room for improvement, it is very nice and beautifully made. maybe you can make a few more after you solve the problems and put them in different places? it would be very interesting to record their changes in different places.
回覆刪除you put a dead stick inside the foot. Your idea is talking about the relationship between human and environment. you can put a live plant inside the foot and put in a garden. I like your idea indeed and the big foot is nice, too. : D
回覆刪除I like the part that you said you will record the changes after you put it back to the natural environment! Since you make a footprint by soil signifying the human and the nature, the eventual merging of the soil to the ground and the move in of genuine living things seem to tell us about the natual relationship of the two (man-nature)
回覆刪除I don't think you have to add nutrient addictive( i remember you put those white powder things on the soil) though it seems that you demonstrate human intervention of the nature in a harmless way. Things should be more organic! ^^ i like it!

回覆刪除A continuous observing/documentary the processing of the work should be the most impressive part I guess=)
回覆刪除How changes it does depends on different situations. It;s uncertainty (avariable)!!!!
Whatever the result at the end(if there is a limited time in your project,or maybe there;s no a limited duration),it;s enough to show evidences of how relationship between human and nature through that observation.

I really like your leg and that reminds me of the nutrient cycle I learnt long time ago. Human will return to soil once they die, and the humus produced by the dead body is a great nutrient to plants. The use of soil and leg of human are very nice in expressing the natural cycle and the unavoidable truth of facing death and being decomposed.

The impact is great. This would be an interesting work if further development is made in different places. Somehow I feel like I really walked on the soil with no shoes, feeling the nature.
回覆刪除The way you place the work inside a soil ground surrounded by plants make so much more impact compare with when you presented it in the classroom! I think the beauty of your work comes from how it can merge and dissolve by the ground eventually , it may take some times to witness the change, so it will be a more complete work after some times with documentary. Nice work!

It's a bit difficult to handle...but I like the natural material that you used to make your art, and I appreciate your hard work of trying to make everything organic and bring the form of art back to basics. And I agree with Iris's comment that when you put the foot inside a soil ground instead of displaying in the classroom, the outcome is really awesome and nice!
